It sounds crazy to blame Facebook for the ills in our society especially the environment but here are some compelling reasons. First, for every status update, 128 tons of CO2 are released into the atmosphere. That’s 29.9 tons of CO2 per year. Second, for every 18,000 status updates, 1 hectare of forest is lost. Can you imagine how many hectares of forest lost every day? 12,080 hectares is lost. Third, for every 27 status updates, we release 1 ton of toxic chemical into environment.  That’s about  8.7 tons of toxic chemicals every year. I could go on and on but if you want to know more, simply check out the infographic below from Comcast Cable Deals and you decide if you believe the claims or not.
