Disability affects one in ten people worldwide, with one in five of the world’s poorest citizens being affected by disability. Half of all disabled people cannot afford healthcare, despite needing it most, whereas one in every three non-disabled people can afford healthcare. This infographic provides a wide range of data on world disability and the conference to be held worldwide regarding the same.
This infographic goes into detail about the age breakdown of disability, along with a comparison of the number of people with specific disability-related needs, such as needing physical help on a daily basis, needing a walker or other walking aid, and those with hearing impairments. Additionally, it also details the most common disabilities, such as speech problems, asthma, and diabetes, along with the age groups they are most common in.
Recent reports have shown that there is a serious problem with regard to disabled access throughout Ireland and the UK. While laws such as the Equality Act of 2010 have brought about reforms and change with regard to the level of disabled access present throughout Ireland and the UK, major access problems still exist and do so on a large scale.
