In the early 90s Vanilla Ice was a superstar in his own right. At the top of the billboard charts and starring in movies, he had it made. But then, as quickly as it began, his stardom began to fade.
For most musicians, this is the end of the road. For Robert Van Winkle aka. Vanilla Ice, he would not lay down easily. While he still does make underground music, and successfully it has to be said, he was not well known outside of his small but dedicated audience. This was true until 2010 when he was able to garner a mainstream audience once again. Through real estate, home improvement and house flipping Vanilla Ice caught the attention of the DIY network and has since starred in three hit TV series.
