The US airline industry has grown tremendously over the last 20 years, growing to contribute nearly $1.5 trillion in economic activity in the US alone! Over 11 million jobs, accounting for almost 8% of American employment and almost 5¢ to every dollar of the US GDP.
Airfare has been steadily increasing in price since 1995, however, when you account for inflation, the actual value of the tickets has decreased. The following infographic takes a look the US airlines industry.
