Commercial vehicle drivers can drive most any vehicle on the road today from passenger vehicles to buses and tractor trailers. Owners and operators of large commercial trucks and passenger buses need to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) before entering the field as a commercial driver. A CDL license is a little more complicated than a normal driver’s license and has a few very specific requirements beyond those for a general license to operate a motor vehicle.
