The Opioid crisis is a leading cause of preventable death in the United States, with over 64,000 drug overdose deaths occurring in 2016 alone. With these numbers expected to increase, more funding is required to help develop ways to combat this crisis. Recently President Trump was asked to call a State of Emergency by many states, but instead he declared a Public Health Crisis.
