When Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs started Apple in 1976, they likely had no idea just how huge the company would one day become. Of course, they had their early commercial successes, but the idea that they could have predicted that they would one day become one of the largest companies in the world is nothing short of far-fetched.
Regardless, the company’s market cap sits at $3.43 trillion as of the time of this writing and that makes them the number 1 company by market capitalization over Microsoft (who is in second place) by at least $200 billion.
