A study from the Joslyn Law Firm highlights how prevalent the issue of child abuse is in the United States. The team gathered data on statistics to determine which states have the highest and lowest rates of child abuse. The following infographic is loaded with information and statistics that bring awareness to this serious issue.

Massachusetts topped the list with the highest rates. 16.5 children are victims of child abuse for every 100,000 living in the state. Texas, California, and New York had the largest numbers of child abuse cases in 2022, but the data was adjusted for population density, and these are the most populated states. Sadly, Mississippi had the highest rate of fatalities resulting from child abuse and neglect.
