Looking at the youngest people, Generation Z, we can see them splurging the most on restaurants and bars, a common choice among all generations. Gen Z stands out in their other top three categories, though. They like to splurge on home entertainment, which consists of streaming, gaming, and e-readers.
This isn’t a surprise for a generation that grew up being screen-savvy and lived through COVID during their prime social years, which kept them at home with the task of self-amusement. Gen Z also likes to splurge on beauty and personal care. This is thought to result from influencer culture and greater awareness of skin care and makeup techniques.
