Suffering any form of brain injury from an accident is serious, and usually tragic. When adults or children endure brain damage, doctors don’t know if their behavior will change or whether they will develop some sort of personality or cognitive disorder. The prognosis in either case can be elusive. And the expense of coping with permanent brain damage can run into the millions of dollars in some cases and last the rest of their lives.
