With age comes the natural degradation of bodily function including eyesight. One of the most prevalent eye problems at an advanced age is Cataracts. This disease affects more than half of Americans ages 40 and above.

Cataracts may vary in degree from slight clouding to complete loss of lens transparency. In fact there are several causes of this disease which include exposure to radiation and ultraviolet rays of the sun; secondary effects from other diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Genetics also factors into play. The good news is that Cataract can be prevented.
