Ever heard of fly tipping? Fly tipping is the illegal deposit of waste on land, contrary to Section 33(1)(a) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.The term “fly tipping” is derived from the verb ‘tip’ (i.e., to throw out of a vehicle) and ‘on the fly’ (i.e., to casually throw away). Taxes on landfill in the UK led to illegal waste dumping, or “fly-tipping.”
