The team at Irish Dual Citizenship released a new map showing the countries of the world ranked by how many international tourists visited them. Discover which countries attract the most and least visitors and gain insight into what attracts tourists.
Affordability plays a huge role in choosing a tourist destination. Poland claimed its number two ranking because it offers a classic European experience while being the most affordable European country to visit with reasonable prices on food, attractions, and accommodations. Mexico and Thailand are popular for similar reasons. They’re affordable, offering amazing beaches and resorts, delicious food, and rich culture.
Beautiful natural scenery attracts tourists. That’s why the U.S. and Canada rank in the top ten with plenty of awe-inspiring National Parks to visit. However, safety and cultural recognition have an impact as well. The Solomon Islands are gorgeous, home to untouched beaches, but because of a lack of name recognition and a grim history, it’s one of the least visited locations.
