When we see heavy-hitters like Amazon and Alibaba at the top of the chart, it can be easy to assume that all e-commerce brands enjoy similar success. But scroll to the bottom half of the chart, and you’ll find brands in peril, many of them surprising.

In 2025, the brand with the largest revenue loss was Lightspeed POS. The company earned a respectable $1.15 billion, but that wasn’t enough to offset expenses, resulting in a $670 million loss. Its struggles may surprise some, as this company was once a Wall Street star after its rapid growth in 2021.
