A new chart from Ooma shows the path to billionaire status by America’s self-made women. They span diverse industries, including technology, entertainment, and traditional business building, but as we examine the data, some distinct wealth-building patterns appear.
For example, technology entrepreneurs tend to reach billionaire status the fastest. These women include Daniela Amodei (Anthropic AI, 4 years to billionaire status), Lucy Guo (Scale AI, 9 years to billionaire status), and Michelle Zatlyn (Cloudflare, 14 years to billionaire status).
Sometimes celebrities use their status to build a successful brand, like Rihanna, who generated $1.4 billion with Fenty Beauty in just four years. More traditional industries tend to yield slower but steady results, like Diane Hendricks, who built ABC Supply into a $21.9 billion business over 26 years, or Peggy Cherng, who generated $3.7 billion with Panda Express restaurants after 30 years.
