The debate about legalizing marijuana is heating up all over the world. Currently Canada is in the spotlight because their liberal government has promised some kind of marijuana legalization in 2016. How that will look is still not clear. It’s said that they will use experience from certain USA states, but other countries with less strict marijuana laws can also serve as an example. Portugal is also undertaking experiments by decriminalizing all types of drugs (even hard ones).
This infographic from omqlaw.ca compares cannabis legislation in said three countries: Portugal, Netherlands and a few USA states by a couple of different criteria with the aim of contributing to the current debate about law changes in Canada.
