Avoid big medical bills. Before choosing a health plan, ask the health insurance company if your doctor is in the plan’s network. Providers who participate with your health plan are part of the plan’s “network.” You typically pay more for medical services by out-of-network doctors and pay less for treatments by in-network providers.
