This infographic from Sporting Index begins by harking back to a golden period when Australia was seen as a ferocious and impressive force in the world of cricket – a real force to be reckoned with. However, as time has gone by, the Australian team has reached a point where they are stuck in a rut, shambolic, getting poor results, and engaging in changing room disputes and bar room dust-ups. Hardly the Australian cricket team we know.
The infographic portrays this poor show in several ways: a comparison between some of the impressive players of the past and the achievements of their contemporaries, meager performances in the past not having prevented certain players from being selected again, and other depictions.
But where Australia is concerned, nothing can ever be taken for granted. This may be seen as one of the worst Australian teams to play in The Ashes, but it can never be assumed that victory is in the bag for England.
So while this infographic does its best to show that Australia may not appear to pose much of a threat to the England team, there is a tinge of warning in there, and that is to never assume!
