The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has been handing out fines like candy in recent months. The ICO are responsible for tracking down and punishing companies that break anti-spam rules or are responsible for incompetent breaches of data. In the wake of the new GDPR rules that came into force in May 2018, companies can be fined a staggering 20 million euros or 4% of global turnover for breaking the rules. The stakes are high!
