American firearm sales and concealed handgun permit applications are at an all-time high since the 2008 election of President Barak Obama. The increase in Americans purchasing firearms has meant massive increases in sales by gun makers, billions more in federal and state tax collections related to firearms and ammo, and hundreds of thousands of new Americans carrying concealed weapons.
We cannot necessarily give credit to Obama for this but rather the increase in sales is most likely due to the fact that Americans fear their gun rights might be hindered with Obama in office. The infographic below from Ammo.com shows the details.
