In order to get a driver’s license in New York state, you should have a minimum of 16 years and have held your learner’s permit for at least six months. Furthermore, you ought to have driven for a minimum of 50 hours of practice driving.

To apply for a driver’s license you must have proof of identity, proof of SSN, pay the fee, pass the written permit test NY, pass an eyesight test, and pass the final road test.
