Unfortunately, divorce is a normal part of American life. Marriages fall apart across the spectrum of age and income. This map from Joslyn Law Firm gives us a unique insight into divorce rates by showing us the U.S. metro areas with the highest and lowest divorce rates.

The city with the highest divorce rate is Medford, Oregon, a small to mid-sized city with a population under 200,000. Across the nation, the divorce rate is 10.5% but in Medford, the rate leaps up to 15.8%. Other high rates include the Fort Smith, AR-OK metro area, Dothan, AL, Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach, FL, Metro Area, and Charleston, WV.

If these numbers are getting you down, don’t worry! The team also collected data on cities with the lowest divorce rates.
