Moving is an exhausting process and it can be more or less stressful depending on your destination’s ZIP code. Rove Lab studied 55 metro areas and scored them based on how easy or difficult it was to move into and out of them.

If you’re moving in or from New York, LA, D.C., San Francisco, or Chicago, you’ve earned the right to complain about your moving experience. In New York, you’ll want to book a freight elevator weeks in advance because 57.2% of rentals are in large buildings with old, narrow staircases. In LA, you’ll have to plan for a 7-hour window of high traffic congestion, so add some significant time to your move. In Seattle, you’ll want to watch the weather carefully or take precautions for rain. There are 156 rainy days a year.
