A $1 million budget doesn’t buy the same home everywhere. This infographic from Artisan Elevators compares how much living space $1M buys across major luxury property markets.

In Monaco, it buys only 172 square feet, less than many hotel suites. Global financial hubs such as Hong Kong, New York, London, Tokyo and Dubai also offer surprisingly little room for the money. Chicago buyers get more than 1,100 square feet. Santiago and Buenos Aires stretch the budget to several thousand square feet, and Dhaka tops the list at 10,764 square feet.

The infographic also explains the forces behind the gap: limited land, international wealth competing for scarce properties, and emerging markets that still have room to grow. It’s a quick visual guide for buyers, investors and anyone curious about how purchasing power varies in global luxury real estate.
